Skilling through MAHARASHTRA STATE SKILL DEVELOPMENT SOCIETY (MSSDS): A Government of Maharashtra Initiative – To leverage India’s demographic dividend more substantially and meaningfully, the government launched the “Skill India” campaign which aims to provide a job-ready workforce to the industry to ramp up productivity and ultimately propel economic growth. Given the fact that India is labour rich economy, it cannot only fulfill its own requirement but also cater to labour shortages in other countries, there is a clear opportunity to train India’s labour force in globally competitive skills. To achieve this Skill Development Mission in the state of Maharashtra, Maharashtra State Skill Development Society has been registered on 15th February 2011 under the Societies Registration Act 1860. The Society is the Nodal Agency for planning, coordination, execution & monitoring of Skill Development Initiative of Government of Maharashtra. The society is functioning under the Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Department, Government of Maharashtra. All the Skill Development schemes of various departments of Government of Maharashtra are integrated and implemented through the active coordination under the single umbrella of this society.
HWARF is carrying project for school dropout children under MSSDS, Pramod Mahajan Kaushalya and Udhyojakta (PMKUVA) for all the Districts. The eligibility for enrollment for youth are: 15 to 45 years. The criteria for joining the free training skill program for the youth should be Domicile of Maharashtra.Their Annual Income should be less than 2 lacs Below Poverty Line (BPL Certificate). The Candidate would be given preference if they are from SC/ST, Women, Handicapped category. They should have not availed any training under SJSRY/NULM scheme in last 3 yrs. If he/she has done so, then he/she is eligible for next level of training.
The Skill Training under these schemes is Free of Cost for Maharashtra youth, eligibility. We have two centers; one in Vasai, Dist. Palghar and another in Kandivali, Dist. Mumbai.
MSSDS Skill Development Program at Asha Ankur Ashram at Rajavali, Vasai, Dist. Palghar
The program is successfully started and ongoing at Asha Ankur Ashram at Rajavali, Vasai, Dist. Palghar. The children are mainly from tribal and economically weaker section of the society. The training for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is conducted and supervised by a professional trainer, the attendance is promptly recorded through bio-metric attendance and are covered under CCTV surveillance. The bio-metric attendance is directly connected to the MSSDS software where the authorities can directly access the status of the course. There will be two internal tests on practical and theory during the 6 months course, the final test will be conducted by the MSSDS authorized government examiner and based on the test and attendance the student will receive the course completion certificate by Government of Maharashtra.
MSSDS Skill Development Program at Hilda Castellano Hindi Marathi High School, Kandivali
Second center is at Hilda Castellano Hindi Marathi High School, Kandivali. The school is surrounded by the slum in Majiwada and the large population of lower/middle class school dropout children is benefited to avail the free training scheme. The Hilda Castellano is the most popular school in providing facility for weaker section of the society from 3 long decades. HWARF and the school authorities jointly are taking effort in providing this free training to deserving Maharashtra youth and their welfare initiated by Government of Maharashtra
It’s a great initiation planned and executed by the Government of Maharashtra under the (MSSDS) scheme that after the completion of the Skill Training the students will be provided job by the Training Providers. HWARF have requested the parents to encourage their children to enroll them in this government initiated free training scheme and benefit their carrier and secured future.
